The Presentation of the book about protected areas of Lagodekhi will be held by the support and funding of EU and Municipal Development group of Lagodekhi.
According to reports, the book The Adventures of Lagodekhi Forest is dedicated to the Municipal protected areas. The book was published by the support of local Municipal Development Group and was funded by EU.   The event will hold on October 31, at 12:00.

  • Shining the light on disinformation: book launch in Tbilisi

    On 14 October, a presentation was held at the Georgian National Library Hall of the Georgian translation of the book by  Peter Pomerantsev, This is not Propaganda: Adventures in the War against Reality.

    The presentation was led by Nino Dolidze, Executive Director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), author Peter Pomerantsev and writer Lasha Bugadze.

    The book was translated and published by Intellect Publishing House within the framework of the ISFED project ‘Strengthening Society Resilience against Disinformation’, with  financial support from the EU Delegation to Georgia.

    Peter Pomerantsev is a Soviet-born British journalist, author and TV producer. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a researcher at Johns Hopkins University. Pomerantsev studies information manipulation and countermeasures in the twenty-first century.

    His first book, Nothing is True and Everything is Possible, was published in Georgian in 2017.

  • New Life of Tskaltubo – Presentation of Investment Project

    New Life of Tskaltubo – a large-scale investment project, which provides for the sale of 14 sanatoriums to investors at privatization auctions within the framework of the conceptual plan for the restoration and development of the resort, was presented by the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili to the guests invited to Tskaltubo.

    The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, opened the event, which was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, international donor organizations and the business sector.

    “Tskaltubo is our unique historical heritage. Unfortunately, in 1990s, the resort lost its glory, many things were destroyed during this period, but we still have a chance to preserve this unique cultural heritage and restore it in a way that will really bring new life to Tskaltubo,” – Levan Davitashvili ted noduring his speech at the presentation.

    Within the framework of the general plan for the restoration of the resort, the state is putting up for sale 14 estates located in Tskaltubo including 5 premium class hotels, 5 middle class hotels and 4 different types of accommodation facilities.  Total value of all the property is approximately 50 million GEL. In addition, private investment in the amount of 500 million GEL will be made in the resort. According to the project, the state undertakes obligation to invest in order to transform Tskaltubo into an international level spa resort.

    The project envisages creation of a unique, modern spa-resort in Tskaltubo, establishment of medical tourism, diversification of tourist offers, rehabilitation of the city centre and public spaces, rehabilitation of the urban space of the city centre. Implementation of the project developed by the Government of Georgia will make Tskaltubo a high-class resort that will host international and local tourists in all four seasons. Tskaltubo will offer its guest not only unique thermal waters, but also highest quality of recreation, ecology and natural monuments.

  • THE PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK OF THE HERO-ARKADAG “ÖMRÜMIŇ MANYSY” TOOK PLACE

    On May 3, 2022, the presentation of the book of Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Ömrümiň manysy" was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

    Officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, faculty and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in the presentation of the new book.

    The speakers spoke in detail about the significance of the new literary and philosophical work "Ömrümiň manysy", its meaning in educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, spiritual perfection, good qualities that elevate everyone.

    At the end of the presentation, the audience sincerely wished the Hero-Arkadag good health, long life, success in activities for the benefit of the people and the state, and new creative success.

  • THE PRESENTATION OF PRESIDENT’S NEW BOOK WAS HELD AT THE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OF THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN

    On May 11, 2021, the presentation of the new book of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov «Ashgabat - The White City» was held in the conference hall of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The publication of the book became a unique gift for the 140th Anniversary of the Turkmen capital.

    The rectors, professors, teachers and students from local universities, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Turkmenistan and media representatives attended the event. In addition, the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to foreign countries participated to the event via videoconferencing.

    Opening the event, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan J. Gurbangeldiyev noted that the informative and rich illustration of the new book of the Head of state tells in detail history of capital city and its present day.

    The Ambassadors of states whose capital cities are sister cities of Ashgabat addressed the event, in particular, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan A. Kuchkarov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Ye. Sapiyev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan T. Oral.

    In addition, Rector of the International University for the Humanities and Development E. Aydogdyev, Rector of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D.Azadi M. Kulieva and others read their statements.

    The participants of the presentation noted that the book «Ashgabat - The White City» adds pride to the capital and makes it possible to appreciate better the unique beauty and architectural features of the city. The historical development and transformation of the main city of the country was told. Several objects of the capital were highlighted, which were included in the «Guinness Book of World Records». The speakers also spoke about major international events held in Ashgabat.

    At the end of the event, the participants adopted the Address to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

  • Mass Cycling Training at Ashgabat Stadium Enters Guinness Book of Records

    At the instruction of the head of state, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs held a cycling training at the capital’s multifunctional Ashgabat Stadium on 1 June. Representatives of Guinness World Records proclaimed the event the largest cycling awareness-raising event in the world.

    The number of participants of this grand cycling campaign reached 3 thousand 246 people. They practiced cycling, and then were informed on the role of this mode of transport in the current logistical environment and on traffic rules and regulations for cyclists on city streets.
    The event became a vivid reflection of this well-established innovation in Turkmenistan, where a growing number of people prefer bicycles as the healthiest and most environmentally friendly mode of transport.

    The rise in such tendencies in Turkmenistan attracted attention of several foreign companies working to develop cycling infrastructures in cities. Representatives of SMOOVE French company were briefed on opportunities to introduce automated bike-share systems in Ashgabat and Avaza National Tourist Zone. In their opinion, our country managed to create perfect conditions for bicycle rides, and the city’s road infrastructure is fully compatible with cycling safety standards.

    The guests noted that today, under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sports in Turkmenistan are reaching mass levels. Being accessible to people of all ages and beneficial for health and fitness, cycling plays a special role in the lives of Turkmen citizens.

    At the 82nd meeting of the 72nd session, the UN General Assembly adopted a Resolution declaring 3 June World Bicycle Day, and this testified to the fact that the global community highly commends the proactive role of Turkmenistan in developing sports and mass sports movement, international cooperation in this sphere, and shaping the environmental culture of the society.
    The Turkmen leader’s seriousness with regard to sports, primarily, as the best way to maintain people’s health, is reflected in the social policy consistently implemented by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov so as to improve the quality of life of the people of Turkmenistan and create all conditions necessary to bring up healthy and resilient generations.
