Statement of the Prime Minister concerning the case of Goderdzi Tevzadze
Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili refrains from making the preliminary statements on the case of the Policeman Goderdzi Tevzadze during the investigation process.
As the head of the Government indicated while responding to the question of reporters concerning the said topic, the investigation into the case will be conducted to establish the truth.
"It is a welcoming fact that he is currently detained. He is entitled to protect his rights. Since the investigation into the case is ongoing, maybe, we shall refrain from making statements in advance. The investigation will take place and the truth will be established. No one can evade the responsibility. However, investigation is ongoing," - Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili hosted a formal dinner in honor of the EU delegation members currently visiting Georgia.
The official dinner honoring the diplomats was held at Mtatsminda. The Head of Government and the European diplomats discussed Georgia’s European integration in an informal setting.
A high-level regional ambassadorial organized by the EU Delegation is about to be held in Tbilisi. Senior officials for the EU’s External Action Service and the European Commission—including the Heads of the EU Delegations to the countries of the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia, also to Turkey and Austria—will participate in the regional ambassadorial.The high-level regional ambassadorial of the EU is held periodically and represents an important forum for discussing the EU’s policy toward concrete countries.
As it was noted at the official dinner, holding the ambassadorial in Georgia demonstrates Georgia’s importance in the region for the EU, including as a strong ally in cementing the cooperation among European and Central Asian countries.Press Service of the Government Administration -
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Irene Fellin, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security.
The conversation at the meeting held at the Government Administration focused on NATO’s open door policy and Georgia’s integration into the North Atlantic Alliance. It was noted that Georgia has always been one of NATO’s most reliable and effective partners with a tremendous contribution to common Euro-Atlantic security.
As the Prime Minister pointed out, in many ways Georgia acts as an Ally, and it is commendable that the Allies have decided to provide Georgia with tailored support measures, which will help further strengthen Georgia’s defense capabilities.
The regional and global security environment and challenges were also discussed. Emphasis was placed on Georgia’s considerable role in cementing security in the Black Sea region.
The discussed topics included the 2nd National Human Rights Strategy approved by the Georgian Government in 2022 and covering the years 2022-2030. It was noted that the strategy dedicates a significant portion to gender equality and envisages constantly upgrading equality and non-discrimination legislation.
The conversation also touched on Georgia’s 2022-2024 National Action Plan for the Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security, and the Action Plan for Measures to Be Taken in 2022-2024 for Combatting Violence against Women and Domestic Violence and Protecting Survivors. It was emphasized that both documents include concrete actions and seek to promote gender equality across a variety of areas.
The meeting was attended by Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia Alexander Vinnikov and Georgia’s Ambassador to NATO Victor Dolidze.

Chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, a Government meeting was held today at the Government Administration.
The Cabinet of Ministers discussed nine topics.Among the discussed topics was the Draft Ordinance of the Georgian Government on Measures to Be Taken by Some Municipalities, which envisages renovation and restoration of municipal buildings and facilities.The preliminary study conducted by the municipalities identified 1,263 buildings and facilities disfiguring the appearance of the municipalities and requiring renovation and reconstruction and, in some cases, demolition.Consequently, on the Georgian Government’s decision, the municipalities were authorized to carry out necessary renovation, reconstruction, or demolition works within their respective administrative borders on buildings and facilities that disfigure the appearance of the municipalities or create safety problems.Necessary work in this direction will be launched by the municipalities as early as this year.Press Service of the Government Administration
