“We will make the statement about Archil Gegeshidze later,”-the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze said today on the question if Gegeshidze stays on his post.
“We will answer late when the Foreign Ministry makes the decision,”-Mikheil Janelidze said. He did not concreted if Foreign Ministry heard explanations from Gegeshidze.
The Ambassador of Georgia to US said that there are pro-Russian forces in the ruling party but they don’t act on decision making process. According to him, if not Treaty of Georgievsk we would have dark black eyebrows and hair like Persians.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
Ilia Darchiashvili and Marija Pejčinović Burić spoke about Georgia's successful cooperation with the Council of Europe, emphasizing the Organization’s important contribution to the process of democratic development of Georgia.
Special attention was paid to the Russia-Georgia conflict, the situation in the occupied regions, and in this context, the Council of Europe’s important role in the peaceful resolution of the conflict as well as in restoring confidence between the communities torn apart by the conflict.
The sides emphasized the importance of keeping the occupation of Georgian territories high on the agenda of the Council of Europe and positively assessed the practice of the Secretary General’s annual reports on the difficult humanitarian situation and the security environment in the occupied regions, for which Ilia Darchiashvili thanked the Secretary General. Discussions focused on the security environment in the region, as well as on the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The Secretary General thanked Georgia for its active involvement in the CoE’s actions aimed to support Ukraine.
The sides highlighted the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia aimed to support the ongoing reforms in Georgia.

Employees of relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are mobilized near the bank located on Shota Rustaveli Avenue in Kutaisi.According to initial information, an armed person broke into the "Bank of Georgia" branch.As soon as the report on the attack was received, the police officers cordoned off the area around the scene immediately. TURKMENISTAN DISCUSSED WITH PARTNERS FROM THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ISSUES OF EXPANDING COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF RENEWABLE ENERGY
On September 7, 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B. Myatiev met at the MFA of Turkmenistan with the autorities of the Masdar company of the United Arab Emirates.
During the meeting, issues of further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the energy sector were discussed. In particular, the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE were discussed in order to expand cooperation in the field of rational use of renewable energy sources and ensure energy security.
A desire was expressed to intensify cooperation between Turkmenistan and the International Renewable Energy Agency - IRENA, headquartered in Masdar, UAE. Turkmenistan expressed its readiness, within the framework of partnership with IRENA, to hold international scientific conferences and other events, as well as to become a place for the development and testing of alternative energy technologies that can be used in the countries of Central Asia.

In order to improve and maintain on a systematic basis the rules for the stay of citizens of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkmen side requested the state of the Republic of Türkiye to introduce on a temporary basis a visa regime of various categories for citizens of Turkmenistan.

Georgian diaspora can make a valuable contribution to establishing strong ties with Europe - Ilia Darchiashvili
On 12 August 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) hosted the awarding ceremony for the winners of the Diaspora Grant Competition.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimer Konstantinidi, the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Giorgi Volski, the Chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Committee of the Parliament, Beka Odisharia and the Head of the ICMPD office in Georgia, Zurab Korghanashvili spoke before the attending audience.
Ilia Darchiashvili thanked the winners of the grant competition for their interesting ideas and initiatives. According to him, grant programmes aimed at supporting the diaspora are getting increasingly popular.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs implemented three grant programs: “Be a Young Ambassador of Your Country”, “Supporting the Diaspora Initiatives”, and “Supporting the Georgian Folk Dance and Song Ensembles Abroad”. During the coronavirus pandemic and the post-crisis period, the main goal of the grant programmes was to solve the problems faced by the emigrants. At the subsequent stage, however, the focus of the grant programmes was shifted to the role of the Georgian diaspora in the context of Georgia’s European future.
The Foreign Minister thanked all Diaspora representatives involved in the 2022 grant programmes for their interest and participation and highlighted that the Georgian government will continue to maintain close ties with the Georgian diaspora abroad and, through the implementation of projects developed by the State, will support its active role in Georgia’s European integration process.
